Breathe deep now
I watch his chest rise and fall
He’s taking the leap now;
I sure hope that boy can fly

What made him think he should do it?
Was he even thinking at all?
Quiet now, the crowd is forming
Quick.. Pause; mid fall

Here’s where I start to wonder why
Why am I still on the ground?
I should be on the ledge with you
Instead of just standing around

Let’s recall to where it started
Before we press play again
You must have been broken hearted
With time, broken hearts mend

Maybe you didn’t have time to wait
Maybe you grew up too fast
Maybe you thought it was all fake
Maybe I wish I could take it back

Why I didn’t see it coming
Is something I don’t know
You kept your smile stunning
While planning your final show

I’ve heard it said that the world’s a stage
Your acting convinced us all
If I would have called your bluff
Would you have taken that last fall?

I don’t know why you did it
What was running through your mind
While standing on the building’s edge
Did you whisper “I’m sorry” one last time?

I can’t bare to watch
It’s too late to walk away
Please, just keep this on pause
I just can’t press play again
